New Pickleball Complex in Myrtle Beach with Bar and Kitchen Set to Open in 2025!

New Pickleball Complex in Myrtle Beach: Tidal Creek Brewhouse, co-founded by Adrian Sawczuk, is set to broaden its offerings with the addition of a pickleball complex adjacent to its existing facility in Myrtle Beach’s Market Common.

The complex will feature six outdoor courts and four covered courts, all adhering to regulation dimensions of 20 feet by 44 feet. These courts will be constructed on vacant land next to the brewery, situated at the corner of Knoles Street and Shine Avenue.

Enhanced Facilities and Offerings

The adjacent building, currently vacant, will be renovated to include a bar, kitchen, small brewery system, coffee roaster, office space, and storage.

“Someone’s like, ‘Have you done a market study for the demand for pickleball?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m aware of what’s going on in the world. That’s my market study.’” – (Sawczuk)

The new facility, named Tidal Creek Pickle House, aims to open in 2025, with plans to hire 10-20 additional staff members and offer various roles within the expanded complex.

Community and Economic Impact

Sawczuk and his wife Dara plan to introduce crowdfunding opportunities for employees and the public to invest in the pickleball venture. The complex will not only offer pickleball instruction and host tournaments but will also provide additional revenue streams through food, beverages, and events. Sawczuk noted that while pickleball itself can generate some income, the primary revenue will come from these ancillary services.

“It’s not nonprofit enterprise. The prices will be reasonable. I think it’s probably $20 per person per hour. That could change because we’re still planning though. We’ll have open play. And obviously, the price is going to vary based on time of day and the covered courts will be more expensive than the non-covered. You can make a little money on pickleball, but the money’s going to be from food and beverage and tournaments.” – (Sawczuk)

Historical Context and Renovation Plans

The construction of the pickleball complex is part of a broader redevelopment effort, utilizing a city tax credit aimed at rehabilitating abandoned properties. The Shine Avenue building, vacant since 2016, will be revitalized as part of this initiative.

The new pickleball facility will contribute to the transformation of the former Myrtle Beach Air Force base area, now known for its business district and community amenities.
