Pickleball Club Raises 4500 Dollar at 2nd Annual H4H Charity Tournament

Pickleball Club Raises 4500 Dollar: In Peachtree City, the Fayette pickleball community gathered for a cause close to their hearts at the second annual Healing4Heroes (H4H) charity tournament on June 15. Held at Flat Creek Country Club, the event surpassed expectations by raising over $4,500 in support of H4H’s efforts.

A Commitment to Veterans: Sue Reed and PTC-Fayette Pickleball Club

Spearheaded by Sue Reed, treasurer and membership director of the PTC-Fayette Pickleball Club, the tournament selected H4H as its beneficiary. Reed’s decision was driven by personal experience with the charity, witnessing firsthand how service dogs transform the lives of veterans.

The Story Behind H4H: Piper Hill’s Inspirational Journey

Founded by Army veteran Piper Hill, H4H was inspired by her own dog, Valentine, and the profound impact animals can have on rehabilitation. Hill, injured during deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, credits Valentine for steadfastly aiding her recovery and enabling her to support other veterans facing similar challenges.

Community Impact and Continued Support

Beyond aiding veterans, H4H rescues dogs from local shelters, providing them with training and care to become service animals. The organization’s efforts are sustained through community donations, covering all aspects of dog training and welfare.

The PTC-Fayette Pickleball Club, renowned in the Southeast with over 600 members, actively promotes community engagement through free clinics and certified coaching. With a recent surge in new players benefiting from introductory sessions, the club remains committed to fostering inclusivity and skill development within the sport.
