Gabby Thomas’ second Olympic outing in Paris was nothing short of spectacular. She upgraded her bronze medal from the 200m race in Tokyo by taking gold with a blistering time of 21.83 seconds, beating St. Lucia’s Julien Alfred and fellow American Brittany Brown. Her achievements didn’t stop there—Thomas also helped secure two more gold medals in the women’s 4x100m and 4x400m relays. Notably, the 4x400m relay team, which included Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, set a new American record.

Following her 200m gold medal victory, Thomas made a beeline toward her boyfriend, Spencer McManes, who was seated in the bleachers cheering her on. The two have been a couple since October 2022, and McManes is often seen supporting Thomas at her events. A Yale University graduate and former football player, McManes met Thomas while they were both in Austin, Texas. He was also present when the Harvard graduate received her master’s degree in May 2023.
