Catamount Pickleball’s Late Fall Leagues: Catamount Pickleball is preparing for its highly anticipated Late Fall Leagues, set to commence on October 14th. With leagues running for five weeks, this initiative provides an excellent opportunity for players of all skill levels to engage in competitive play and enhance their skills. Member signups are currently open, while non-member registrations will begin on September 30th, allowing pickleball enthusiasts to join in the excitement.
Ladder League Play
This year’s ladder league play is designed to build both competitive spirit and camaraderie among participants. Each week, players will be organized into pods of 4 or 5 based on their performance, which allows for a tailored experience that can adapt to varying skill levels.
Participants can expect to move up or down between pods each week, keeping the competition fresh and engaging. League games will be recorded in the DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) system, ensuring that every player’s progress is tracked and accounted for.

Scramble League Play
For those seeking to add a twist to their pickleball experience, the scramble league offers an exciting format where players compete against different opponents in each game. This unique structure encourages social interaction and strategy, as players must quickly adapt to varying playing styles. While scores will not be recorded in the DUPR for this league, the focus remains firmly on enjoyment and the thrill of competition.

Important League Information
As the leagues approach, players are reminded of crucial participation protocols. It is essential for participants to opt in via the app or website for each week they intend to play. For those who choose to opt out, finding a substitute is imperative. If a player fails to notify the organizers and does not find a substitute, they will not be allowed to participate that night, as arrangements will have been made for a replacement. Additionally, a DUPR rating of 3.5 or above is now required for players participating in leagues at the 3.5 level or higher, ensuring a competitive environment that aligns with players’ abilities.
A Few Friendly Reminders
- Footwear Policy: To maintain the integrity of the courts, outdoor shoes or black-soled non-court shoes are strictly prohibited. Players should ensure they wear appropriate footwear to avoid any potential damage to the playing surface.
- Food and Drink Restrictions: In order to keep the courts clean and safe, all forms of food, chewing gum, or candy are not allowed on the courts. Players are encouraged to enjoy refreshments in designated areas.
- Court Reserve Account: To participate in the leagues, every player must have a court reserve account set up. This ensures a streamlined process for booking and managing court time.
