New Pickleball Program at Beaulieu Set to Become a Massive Game Changer

New Pickleball Program at Beaulieu: Highvern has officially announced its sponsorship of a new school program at Beaulieu, aimed at introducing students to the increasingly popular sport of pickleball. This initiative, spearheaded by Thomas Price, the founder and coach of Jersey Pickleball, will take place from September 2024 to April 2025, providing students with an opportunity to learn valuable skills while staying active and having fun.

Growth of Pickleball in Jersey

Since its introduction to the island in 2022, Highvern has played a crucial role in supporting the growth of pickleball, an inclusive sport that has become entrenched in Jersey’s athletic community. The island now boasts three dedicated pickleball courts at the St. Clements Sports and Recreation Centre, in addition to facilities at Fort Regent and the New Gilson Hall. The sport’s unique blend of agility, strategy, and teamwork makes it an ideal activity for students to explore and enjoy.

Expert Coaching Provided

Phil Carlton, Client Director at Highvern, expressed enthusiasm for the program.

“We are delighted to sponsor this pickleball program at Beaulieu. Pickleball is a sport embraced by many of our Highvern colleagues and their families in the jurisdictions around the world in which we operate, and we have been proud supporters of its growth on the island since it began in 2022. We are excited to now extend this opportunity to young people, giving them access to a sport that is not only rapidly gaining popularity but also highly accessible and enjoyable.” – (Phil Carlton)

To facilitate this initiative, Highvern will cover the costs of coaching fees and necessary equipment, including rackets and balls. Students will benefit from expert training provided by Thomas Price and Tom Middleton, both champions of the HIGHVERN Pickleball League.
