Wellesley Pickleball Meeting Set for September 30: The Wellesley Recreation Commission, with the expertise of consultants from Weston & Sampson, is preparing for an important next step in shaping the future of pickleball in the community. On Monday, September 30, the town will host a virtual public meeting to discuss Phase II of the Wellesley Pickleball Feasibility and Design Study. The meeting, scheduled to run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., will provide a forum for residents to share their thoughts, ask questions, and engage with officials regarding the evolving project.
Virtual Platform, Real Impact
Taking place via Zoom, the meeting offers a convenient way for the community to participate, no matter where they are located. During the “Citizen Speak” portion of the meeting, attendees will be able to voice their opinions and offer input. However, to keep things moving smoothly, each speaker will be limited to three minutes, giving everyone a chance to be heard.
Residents who want to make live comments will need to email the Recreation Department at recreation@wellesleyma.gov by noon on the day of the meeting, September 30. Once registered, participants will receive the Zoom link and a place in the speaking queue.
For those who prefer not to speak live, or who want to ensure their thoughts are heard even if they can’t attend, written comments can also be submitted in advance. These comments should be sent to the same email address.
Keeping the Community Informed
Ahead of the meeting, residents are encouraged to review all materials related to Phase II of the pickleball study. This information, along with other relevant documents, has been made available on the Wellesley Recreation Department’s web pages. This will allow community members to familiarize themselves with the study’s progress and come prepared with questions or comments for the discussion.
Backing the Project
The Wellesley Pickleball Feasibility and Design Study has been made possible through funding from the Wellesley Community Preservation Committee. This financial support, which was approved during the Special Town Meeting held in November 2023, underscores the town’s commitment to expanding pickleball opportunities and enhancing local recreational facilities.
