Land Grant Picklefest Brings Exciting Competition to Columbus

From October 11 to 13, 2024, Ohio Social Sports will debut the Land Grant Picklefest at the vibrant Land-Grant Brewery’s Gravity Experience Park in Columbus. This inaugural pickleball event promises a unique blend of competitive pickleball and community festivities, attracting players of all skill levels from near and far.

Registration Perks

Participants can expect a plethora of goodies included in their registration. Each player will receive an event T-shirt, a pickleball-branded hat, a player bag filled with giveaways, and access to all brewery amenities. Spectators can enjoy a designated area with tables and chairs, creating a festive atmosphere around the action.

Additionally, each participant will guarantee a minimum of six round-robin games, with a playoff game for the top four teams, along with a complimentary Land Grant beverage and a raffle entry featuring sponsored giveaways.

Competitive Play

The tournament will include various formats, such as Men’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and Women’s Doubles, across skill levels from 3.0 and under to 4.5 and above. Matches will follow a round-robin format, with games played to 11, requiring a two-point win margin. The event schedule breaks down as follows:

  • Friday: Men’s Doubles
  • Saturday: Mixed Doubles
  • Sunday: Women’s Doubles

Registration Details

Early bird registration runs through Labor Day, with a tournament entry fee of $60 per participant. Additional events will cost $25 each. After September 3, registration fees increase to $85, so early sign-up is encouraged.

Vendor Presence and Food Options

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore vendor tents featuring pickleball-related products, alongside food trucks that will enhance the festive environment.

Health and Safety Protocols

Participants should note that parking can be limited in the surrounding area. A variety of options are available, including metered street parking, free street spots, and large garages nearby. An onsite parking lot is also available. However, players are advised against parking in the Strongwater/400 W. Rich lot or the Idea Foundry’s lot, as unauthorized vehicles may be towed.
