The Bergen County Pickleball Club (BCPC) is preparing for an exhilarating weekend filled with competition and camaraderie as the BCPC Fall Fury pickleball tournament is set to take place from October 18 to October 20, 2024. This event promises to be a highlight of the fall sports calendar, hosted at the club’s state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor pickleball courts in Tenafly, New Jersey. With seasoned players and newcomers expected to participate in the pickleball tournament, it offers something for everyone in the community.
Tournament Schedule
Friday, October 18
The pickleball tournament kicks off with Men’s and Women’s Singles, starting at 3 PM. Participants can anticipate a thrilling afternoon as players compete head-to-head in singles matches.
Saturday, October 19
The excitement reaches new heights with a full day of doubles events.
- Men’s Doubles (4.5+ Open) begins at 6 PM. Winning teams will take home $300, while the runners-up earn $150, provided that at least 10 teams sign up.
- Women’s Doubles (4.5+ Open) starts at 12 PM, with winners receiving $200 and runners-up earning $100, contingent on a minimum of 8 teams.
- Mixed Doubles (4.5+ Open) kicks off at 3 PM, offering $250 for the winning team and $125 for the runners-up, also requiring 8 teams.
- Additionally, the Men’s Singles Open event provides $125 to the winner and $100 to the runner-up, with a minimum of 8 players. The Women’s Singles Open offers a prize of $100 for the winner and $75 for the runner-up, needing at least 5 players.
Sunday, October 20
The final day features mixed doubles, men’s, and women’s doubles for skill levels ranging from 2.5 to 4.0+. Matches will be conducted in the indoor and outdoor facilities, with mixed events starting first. Players can compete in a maximum of two events on this day.
Registration and Fees
Early bird registration is available for just $50 if completed by October 1, 2024, and includes medals for the winners. The following fees apply for various events:
- Gender Doubles: $20 per player
- Mixed Doubles: $25 per player
- Men’s Open 4.5+: $35 per player
- Women’s/Mixed Open: $35 per player
- Men’s and Women’s Singles (4.0 and below): $20 per player
- Men’s and Women’s Singles Open: $30 per player

Tournament Format and Rules
All matches will adhere to the 2024 USA Pickleball Rules. Players are responsible for familiarizing themselves with these regulations, which can be reviewed at USA Pickleball.
- Round Robin Format: All events will follow a round robin structure.
- Division Merging: Divisions with one to three teams may merge with another division, but skill levels will not be mixed.
- Pool Play: During pool play, matches will consist of a single game to either 15 or 11 points, requiring a win by 2 points.
- Playoffs and Medal Rounds: These rounds will maintain the round robin format, featuring a single game to 15 points, also necessitating a win by 2 points.
Skill Level and Age Brackets: Participants must compete at the skill level of the higher-rated player. In age-based brackets, the younger partner’s age determines the bracket.
TD Authority: The Tournament Director and Committee reserve the right to modify formats or rules as necessary to ensure smooth operation.
Refund Policy
- 50% refunds will be provided from October 1 to October 12, 2024.
- No refunds will be issued after October 12, 2024.
In the event of inclement weather, the tournament will prioritize player safety. If matches cannot be played outdoors, they will be moved indoors, and players will receive 80% refunds if brackets do not start.
