Oregon Indoor Pickleball Tournament : The Ilahee Hills Country Club in Salem, Oregon, is preparing to host one of the premier pickleball tournaments in the Pacific Northwest. The upcoming event, scheduled for November 1-3, 2024, promises intense competition, a variety of skill-level brackets, and generous prize money. With 17 indoor courts available, players from different age groups and skill categories will face off for medals and cash rewards. Diverse Format Offers Opportunities for All

The tournament features a Doubles Skill/Age Round Robin format that accommodates all skill levels, ranging from 3.0 to 5.0. Matches during the round robin stage will be played to 15 points, win by 2, while the single-elimination playoffs for Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will adopt a best-of-three format, played to 11 points, also win by 2. Additionally, there are divisions for under-50 players and senior participants across all skill levels, ensuring that a wide variety of competitors can showcase their talents.

The highlight of the event will be the Pro/Open Men’s and Women’s Doubles Brackets, which include prize money that scales according to the number of registered teams. This structure not only incentivizes higher participation but also allows emerging talents to compete against seasoned professionals. For open events, players with a 4.5 or 5.0 United States Tennis Association Player Rating (UTPR) are given priority, ensuring a high level of competition.

Tentative Schedule and Key Events

The event is set to kick off on Friday, November 1st, with Men’s Doubles Skill/Age matches as well as the Women’s Pro Open bracket. The Women’s Pro Open matches are slated to start between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., drawing attention from both players and fans who look forward to seeing some of the sport’s elite compete. Saturday’s schedule will see Mixed Skill/Age Doubles and Mixed Pro Open events, while Sunday will be dedicated to Women’s Skill/Age Doubles and Men’s Pro Open competitions.

To make the competition more dynamic, the Tournament Director reserves the right to modify brackets, add teams, or split events into pools where needed. If events are split, the top two teams from each pool will advance to the single-elimination playoff stage, ensuring that the best performers have a shot at the podium.

Ilahee Hills Country Club offers 17 indoor pickleball courts, including six dedicated courts and 11 courts taped on tennis surfaces. All matches will be played using Franklin X-40 balls, the standard choice for competitive pickleball. Players will have access to a hardcourt surface, which provides consistent ball bounce and speed, ideal for competitive play. The venue also offers other amenities such as a sweatshirt for all players as part of the registration package, though parking is complimentary.

However, participants should note that pets, outside food, grills, or dish-passing are not permitted at the venue. For players needing refreshments, food will be available for purchase on-site. Additionally, all medal matches will be officiated, further enhancing the professional atmosphere of the event.

Registration Details and Prize Information

Registration for the tournament is open until October 22, 2024, with a base fee of $70 plus an additional $15 per event. For players interested in the Pro/Open events, the entry fee is set at $40 per event, and prize money of up to $6,000 will be awarded depending on the number of teams competing. It’s crucial for players to ensure that their partners register within seven days of their sign-up, or they risk being moved to a waitlist. Teams with a cumulative UTPR rating below 4.5 may also be waitlisted to accommodate higher-rated participants.

The tournament’s cancellation and refund policies allow for a full refund until October 1st, with up to a 50% refund available for cancellations made between October 1st and October 14th. No refunds will be provided after October 14th, ensuring commitment from participants as the event approaches.
