10 Weeks Pickleball Showdown in Austin Promises Fun

10 Weeks Pickleball Showdown in Austin: This fall, Austin’s pickleball community is gearing up for a 10-week doubles round-robin league at The Crossover. Starting from September 22 through November 24, matches will be held every Sunday evening, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. It’s a unique setup that promises not only competitive play but also fun. Pickleball players will rotate partners throughout the season, mixing up the matchups each week.

  • Location: The Crossover, Austin
  • Note: Outdoor courts—come prepared for the elements. On-site, players can enjoy a full bar and several food trucks to refuel after matches.

Pickleball Tournament System

Upon arriving each week, participants will register, with matchups starting promptly at 6:15 PM. Each player competes in doubles matches to 11 points, where wins and points are tracked.

The rotation system ensures that everyone plays with different teammates, enhancing the social and competitive dynamics. Miss a week? No problem—just note that the players will miss out on that week’s opportunity to earn points.

Details By the League

Should severe weather or other unexpected events force the facility to close, the league will notify players via the MeetUp app, along with texts or emails for those who’ve provided contact details. The aim is to keep everyone in the loop, even if the courts are closed.

Focus on Sportsmanship

More than just a competition, this league is about community. With participants from all experience levels, organizers are emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship.

As they put it: “Let’s have fun and be kind to one another.” It’s about fostering a supportive and welcoming environment, ensuring that everyone—from seasoned players to first-timers—feels part of Austin’s growing pickleball scene.
