Pickleball Showdown at The Pickle Jar is scheduled for November 22-24, 2024, at The Pickle Jar in Hillsborough, New Jersey. Featuring 8 indoor dedicated pickleball courts, this event invites players of all skill levels ranging from 3.0 to 4.5+ to compete in singles, doubles, and mixed events. Participants will have the chance to win prizes, including paddles, bags, and hats for gold medalists in each bracket, with additional prize money available for the 4.5+ divisions based on the number of entrants.
Tournament Format and Events
The Pickleball Showdown follows the USAPA rules, and all paddles used must be on the USAPA approved paddle list. The tournament will include both Open Level/Pro events and Amateur divisions:
- Open Level/Pro Events:
- Double elimination brackets, best 2 out of 3 games to 11 in the winners’ bracket, and one game to 15 in the consolation bracket.
- Teams in the consolation bracket have the opportunity to advance to the gold medal match.
- Amateur Events:
- Format is round robin, with top teams from each pool advancing to playoffs.
- Every team is guaranteed more than two games. The number of pools and teams in each pool will depend on the overall registration for the event.
Event Registration Fees:
- General Registration: $65
- Each Amateur Event: $25
- Each Pro/Open Level Event: $60
- A $5 service fee per event (capped at $10 during checkout) will also apply.
Registration includes a free T-shirt. Players signing up for doubles must ensure their partner registers and pays within 7 days to avoid being placed on the waitlist. Once both players are confirmed, the team will be moved off the waitlist.
Important Registration Information
- Age Categories:
- Players of any age can enter 19+ events.
- A separate 4.5 bracket exists for 19+ and 50+ categories, which are amateur events without prize money.
- Events labeled 4.5+ Open Level offer prize money.
- Start Times:
- Start times will be communicated 1-2 days after registration closes and may be subject to change based on the number of participants in each event.
- Brackets:
- Brackets may be combined if fewer than three teams are registered, and age groups within the same skill level will be merged first if necessary.
- If a bracket has 4-5 teams, it will follow a round robin format, while brackets with 6 or more teams will be organized in a regular double elimination format.
Refund Policy
Participants are advised to familiarize themselves with the refund policy:
- A 50% refund will be offered from October 23 until November 15.
- No refunds will be issued after November 15.
