On Saturday, November 2, pickleball players in DeRidder, Louisiana, will come together for the Pink LeBall fun tournament, an event dedicated to raising funds for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer awareness and prevention initiatives. Held at West Park Courts on Park Road, this pickleball tournament promises competitive play and a strong show of community support, with all proceeds benefiting the cancer society’s program.
Pickleball Tournament Details and Schedule
The Pink LeBall fun tournament is open to players of all skill levels, and registration is available for gender-based doubles and mixed doubles matches. Participants are asked to check in at 8:00 a.m., with play beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m. Entry is set at $20 per person, providing participants a chance to contribute to an important cause while enjoying a day of spirited competition.
Matches will follow a round-robin format across six outdoor courts, with women’s doubles taking the lead, followed by men’s doubles and, lastly, mixed doubles. The setup ensures that each team gets ample time on the courts, making it an ideal event for seasoned players and newcomers to experience competitive play.
Community Support and Sponsorship
The tournament is sponsored by Amerisafe and organized in collaboration with the DeRidder Pickleball Group. Special thanks go to community members Autumn Moses and Jose Blanco Sr., whose support and coordination have been instrumental in organizing this event. Their contributions show the community’s commitment to supporting breast cancer awareness and prevention.
Fundraising for a Cause
In line with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the tournament aims to raise significant funds to aid in awareness and prevention efforts. Proceeds will directly support the American Cancer Society’s program, which focuses on education, early detection, and prevention of breast cancer. With registration fees contributing entirely to the cause, participants and sponsors are rallying for impactful change.
