Ultimate Indoor Pickleball Club Debuts in Bozeman This Weekend

Ultimate Indoor Pickleball Club: This weekend marks the grand opening of Bozeman Classic Pickleball Club, the city’s first dedicated indoor pickleball facility, offering year-round play for Bozeman’s growing pickleball community.

Bringing Pickleball Indoors: The Vision of Elliot Marcille

Elliot Marcille, founder of Bozeman Classic Pickleball Club, has been instrumental in bringing indoor pickleball to Bozeman. “Bozeman Classic Pickleball Club is Bozeman’s first indoor pickleball facility with dedicated outdoor court material. There are other places that you can play pickleball inside, but pickleball players are not the priority at those places,” Marcille explains.

A former competitive tennis player, Marcille discovered pickleball in 2017. Reflecting on his first game, he recalls, “I got beat by some older folks. You know, I wasn’t expecting it to happen like this. And that’s when I realized pickleball is such a fun, approachable game.” After moving to Bozeman in 2009 to attend Montana State University, Marcille later returned to pursue his dream of establishing himself within the local pickleball scene.

Bozeman’s Growing Pickleball Scene

Marcille observed Bozeman’s pickleball community expanding rapidly, particularly at Bogart Park, where the city converted tennis courts into seven outdoor pickleball courts. “It went from kind of being like a sleepy park to maybe the most popular place to be when the weather is nice,” Marcille notes. However, these courts often experience overcrowding, and nearby residents have voiced concerns about noise, resulting in restricted court hours.

With Bogart Park’s outdoor courts now closed for the season, the timing couldn’t be better for Bozeman Classic Pickleball Club’s grand opening.

A New Home for Pickleball Players

Located in a converted wine storage warehouse on Bozeman’s northeast side, Bozeman Classic Pickleball Club offers four indoor heated courts, giving local pickleball players a much-needed winter option. Marcille, who partnered with Outlaw Realty on the project, expresses his gratitude for their support.

Over recent months, Marcille has engaged local players to understand what they value in an indoor facility. Early membership sales began two weeks ago, with strong interest from the community. Sara, a local pickleball player, shared her excitement, saying, “We’re excited to play during the winter!” Another member, Terry, noted, “The relationships that we’ve formed here are carrying over to the club. We know six regulars here from the courts that are also already signed up.”

Community Spirit and Grand Opening Event

Marcille, deeply connected to the Bozeman pickleball community, is thrilled to bring people together in this new indoor space. “Bozeman is a really special place. And pickleball players are a special part of the Bozeman community. I’d say it’s truly an honor to be the person to help bring people inside in the wintertime to play pickleball,” he says.

The grand opening of Bozeman Classic Pickleball Club is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m., welcoming players of all skill levels.
