These events promise a blend of friendly competition, star-studded appearances, and community impact.
Tournament One: Supporting Firefighters and Rescuers
The Palm Springs Fire Foundation will kick off the month’s charity pickleball festivities this Saturday with an event at the Kimpton Rowan Hotel pickleball courts. The foundation’s goal is to raise funds for injured firefighters and rescuers who responded to Hurricane Helene.
Players can register individually or as a team, with competition levels divided by skill. The entry fee for this event ranges from $25 to $50, allowing a wide range of participants to get involved for a good cause.
The Palm Springs Hospitality Association’s Debut Event
Next up, on November 16, the Palm Springs Hospitality Association will host its first pickleball tournament at Demuth Park. This pickleball event will feature a much-anticipated celebrity match, with Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills going head-to-head with Kim Jagd, a standout player for the Coachella Valley Scorpions.
Proceeds from this tournament will support the association’s scholarship fund, as well as the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs, providing resources to local youth in need.
“Paddles for a Cause” to Close the Month
On November 23, the Palm Springs Police Department will wrap up the series with the “Paddles for a Cause” tournament at the Kimpton Rowan Hotel. This event will help fund the department’s annual “Shop with a Cop” initiative, which aims to give deserving children in the community a positive holiday experience. Participants can expect fierce competition and a heartwarming cause.
A Month of Giving Back and Competitive Play
