First Pickleball Tournament in Baytown Rained Out But Community Support Remains Unshaken

First Pickleball Tournament in Baytown: The Kiwanis Club of Baytown had planned to make history by hosting its first pickleball tournament this year, replacing its long-standing tradition of the annual apple sale. However, nature had other plans as inclement weather led to the cancellation of the highly anticipated event. The tournament was scheduled to take place on Saturday at the Lee College tennis courts. Despite the unfortunate weather setback, the Kiwanis Club extended its gratitude to the numerous sponsors who had stepped forward to support the tournament. These sponsors played a crucial role in making the event a reality, even if it was ultimately rained out.

Generous Sponsors Show Strong Community Support

Among the notable sponsors were ExxonMobil and West Chambers Hearing Center, who served as Platinum Sponsors. Bay Area Rehabilitation Center and Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital stepped up as Gold Sponsors, showing their commitment to the community.

The Silver Sponsors, a diverse group of local businesses and organizations, included Community Resource Credit Union, Stellar Bank, Community Auto Group, Crespo & Jirrels Funeral and Cremation Services, Lee College, John McMillon/Peggy Loggins, Goose Creek CISD, Blake Cather of Edward Jones, Luna’s Restaurant, Kelly Butler with AdCentives, and Enterprise Products.
