Southern Pickleball Academy Scholarship: The Southern Pickleball Academy has opened a new scholarship initiative aimed at recognizing and financially supporting high school students who show leadership and commitment to growing pickleball within their schools and communities. This scholarship program, the first of its kind from the Academy, reflects its dedication to promoting the sport among younger generations.

Scholarship Details and Eligibility

Scheduled for spring 2025, the program will award up to five scholarships, each worth $1,000, to graduating seniors from Aiken County’s public, private, or home schools.

These scholarships stand out from conventional awards, as they are open to students accepted to any post-secondary institution, from colleges to vocational or trade schools.

Application Criteria

Candidates will be evaluated based on their involvement in pickleball activities, leadership within the pickleball community, and their contributions to expanding the sport.

Character is a significant factor, with applicants expected to show integrity and sportsmanship both on and off the court.

Academy’s Commitment to Youth and Pickleball

Beth Eberhard, co-director of the Academy, emphasized the broader mission behind this initiative.

“With the growing popularity of pickleball alongside increasing national concern for our youth’s physical, mental and social health, we want to spread the news that pickleball is not just for senior citizens, but also for high school seniors.
