John Bullins Dominates State Pickleball Tournament: The 2024 N.C. Senior Games State Finals provided a stage for Davie County athletes to show their talents and secure spots in the National Senior Games. With fierce competition in pickleball and basketball, the local athletes showed the vitality of senior sports.

Pickleball Victories: John Bullins Leads the Charge

Held at the Cary Tennis Park from October 18-21, the three-day pickleball competition saw athletes from across the state, but it was Davie County’s own John Bullins who stood out.

Competing in Men’s Doubles and Men’s Singles, Bullins proved his prowess, securing first place in Men’s Doubles and second in Singles. His remarkable performance at the largest NC State Finals Pickleball Tournament in history earned him a well-deserved spot in the National Senior Games, which will be held in Des Moines, Iowa, next summer.

The Davie Senior Games will officially kick off on January 30, marking the beginning of its 32nd season. Registration will be open, providing new opportunities for seniors in the community to get involved and compete.
