Bison Paddles and Utah Conservation Corps Unite: The Utah Conservation Corps (UCC) has joined forces with Bison Paddles, a Utah-based custom pickleball paddle company, in an initiative to support conservation and develop future leaders in the field. The collaboration highlights Bison Paddles’ commitment to both the environment and the sport of pickleball.
Founded by Utah State University alumni Collin Peterson and Daniel Warren, Bison Paddles is introducing the Arches paddle set, part of their Park Series inspired by America’s National Parks. The series aims to connect outdoor recreation with conservation awareness.
Giving Back with Every Purchase
In a significant pledge, Bison Paddles will donate 10% of the proceeds from every Arches paddle set sold to the UCC. The company has a history of supporting conservation efforts, previously partnering with organizations like the National Buffalo Foundation and the National Park Foundation.
“As fellow Aggies, we are excited to be collaborating with the UCC,” said Collin Peterson, co-founder of Bison Paddles. “We wholeheartedly support their mission in protecting public lands and developing conservation leaders. Our goal is to help raise awareness of the UCC all while spreading the joy of pickleball in our great state.”
Impacting Conservation Through Service
The Utah Conservation Corps, an AmeriCorps program housed at Utah State University’s Center for Community Engagement, has been a driving force for environmental stewardship since 2001. With more than 2,700 members logging over 1.9 million service hours, the UCC has made an impressive impact, maintaining 4,660 miles of trails, restoring 67,118 acres of public land, and educating nearly half a million individuals.
Sean Damitz, Executive Director of the Center for Community Engagement, expressed gratitude for the collaboration: “We’re grateful to Bison Paddles for this generous support of the UCC and the conservation of the shared spaces that we all value.”
Building a Legacy of Conservation
This partnership reflects a shared passion for protecting Utah’s natural beauty while fostering a love for pickleball. Through this initiative, Bison Paddles and the UCC are setting a precedent for creative collaborations that benefit both people and the planet.
