Pickleball Craze Hits Las Vegas: Clark County has unveiled plans to expand its pickleball offerings at Sunset Park, one of its largest recreational spaces. The park will see the addition of four new courts to its existing 24-court facility. Construction is set to begin next year, with the courts anticipated to open in 2026.
“These developments are set to promote community engagement and provide state-of-the-art facilities for a range of sports enthusiasts and visitors alike,” the county stated in a press release.
The project is part of a broader park renovation, including a complete overhaul of the four Little League fields and the replacement of all 16 basketball courts. Officials aim to create a premier environment for young athletes.
Paradise Park Gets a Makeover
The 60-year-old Paradise Park, located at McLeod Drive and Tompkins Avenue, will also benefit from significant updates. Planned improvements include a new dog park and six pickleball courts. The pickleball courts will come from converting two existing tennis courts, which will also be resurfaced.
“We are thrilled to embark on these exciting improvements that will not only provide top-notch facilities for residents and visitors of all ages, but also strengthen the sense of community,” said Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson.
Chicken N Pickle Opens in Henderson
In related news, Chicken N Pickle, a unique pickleball and entertainment complex, has opened its doors in Henderson at 3381 Saint Rose Parkway. The venue, backed by Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, offers a blend of recreation and dining, further cementing the sport’s popularity in the region.
