Golden Pickle Christmas Pickleball Tournament in Morrilton to Kick Off Holiday Season

The Morrilton Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up for its first Golden Pickle Christmas Pickleball Tournament, set to take place on Saturday, December 14th, beginning at 8:00 a.m. The pickleball event will be held on the pickleball courts at Morrilton City Park, where players can compete in divisions for men’s and women’s singles, as well as men’s and women’s doubles teams.

Post-Tournament Festivities: Tree Lighting and Holiday Cheer

After the excitement of the pickleball tournament, participants and spectators are invited to stick around for a festive tradition—a Christmas tree lighting ceremony scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

The event will take place in the area between the park’s pavilions. According to Jan Cummings, Parks and Recreation Director, the tree lighting will include a unique opportunity for community involvement.

“Whoever wants to bring a three-foot tree, you can decorate at the park or decorate at your business or home and bring it out and we’ll light it up. We’ll have those placed around and it’ll’ be really pretty…” – (Cummings)

A Community-Oriented Celebration

In true holiday spirit, the tree lighting ceremony will feature hot chocolate and popcorn for attendees. In addition to the festivities, Parks and Rec will be accepting toy donations for Room 29:11, a local charity supporting those in need. The event promises to be a heartwarming way to celebrate the season, combining community fun with a sense of giving.
