Pensacola Hosts the Year’s Biggest Pickleball Event: 2025 Pickle n P’Cola Tournament

The 2025 Pickle n P’Cola tournament is set to bring together competitive pickleball players from across the region for a weekend of intense competition at the University of West Florida, Pensacola. Scheduled from January 17 to January 19, 2025, this tournament promises to deliver thrilling matches in multiple divisions, including men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. Players can expect a well-organized event with a clear focus on maximizing playtime and enjoyment for all participants.

Registration and Important Dates

Registration for the event opened on November 7, 2024, at 10:35 AM CST, and players have until January 14, 2025, at 6:00 PM CST to sign up.

The registration fee is $50, and players can register through the official event website. With nine divisions available, players are encouraged to register early to secure their spots and ensure the event runs smoothly.

Pickleball Tournament Schedule and Format

The tournament follows a structured weekend schedule designed to maximize court time and ensure all players have the opportunity to compete.

  • Friday, January 17:
    • The tournament kicks off at 3:00 PM CST with Men’s and Women’s Singles matches. Practice courts will be available from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM CST on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Saturday, January 18:
    • Women’s Doubles matches will begin at 8:30 AM CST, with Men’s Doubles matches scheduled for 1:00 PM CST. Courts will be available for warm-up prior to the scheduled start time.
    • Practice courts will also be available late afternoon after Saturday’s matches conclude.
  • Sunday, January 19:
    • The final day will feature Mixed Doubles matches starting at 8:30 AM CST. Warm-up courts will again be available before the matches begin.

Each division will follow a round-robin format, where divisions with 9 teams or fewer will play against each other for medals based on the round-robin results. Divisions with 10 teams or more will be split into two pools, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the medal rounds. The medal rounds will be played as one game to 15, with a win by 2 rule.

Venue and Amenities

The pickleball event will be held at the University of West Florida (UWF), located at 11000 University Parkway, Pensacola, FL 32514. The venue offers ample parking, but players arriving on Friday before 4:00 PM CST must stop by the UWF Visitors Center to obtain a free parking pass.

No parking pass is required on Saturday or Sunday. Spectators are welcome to attend and may set up chairs inside the court fences in the designated green areas. Pop-up tents are allowed outside of the fenced areas, though tents cannot be set up directly on the courts.

Refund Policy

Cancellations made before the registration deadline will be eligible for a full refund. Players who withdraw after the registration deadline will not receive a refund.
