Proceeds from the pickleball event went to the Trina Wijangco, MD Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund. This fund supports students who are committed to enhancing diversity in medical education or have a history of serving underserved or underprivileged communities. It reflects Wijangco’s dedication to equality and her passion for helping others.

Honoring Trina’s Journey

Dr. Trina Wijangco, a 2021 graduate of the Temple/St. Luke’s School of Medicine, was pursuing her residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York when her life was tragically cut short. The fundraiser served as a tribute to her commitment to medicine and community service.

Family and Friends Take the Court

Among the players was Marita Wijangco, Trina’s mother, who teamed up with Logan Hellinge in a spirited match against Deven Davies and Olivia Hoy. The games highlighted the event’s dual focus on remembrance and action, reminding participants of the joy Trina brought to those around her.
