Pickleball Meets Dining at PKL Park Greenville: PKL Park Greenville, a new multifaceted venue, officially opened its doors in mid-November, offering an exciting blend of sports, dining, and entertainment. Located near Unity Park at 78 Mayberry St., the space has quickly become a major new addition to the Upstate area, particularly for pickleball players.
The opening event introduced a larger stage for the fast-growing sport and opened three fresh dining concepts, setting the tone for a vibrant social hub.
A New Destination for Pickleball Players
At the heart of PKL Park Greenville lies its pickleball setup, with eight regulation-sized pickleball courts designed to cater to casual players and competitive players. The park provides an ideal environment for pickleball matches, with a vibrant social atmosphere that blends sports with entertainment.
For fans of the sport, the grand opening offered a glimpse of what will surely become a popular destination in the region. This grand opening marked a milestone for Greenville’s pickleball community, introducing a new, permanent fixture in the city for players to enjoy.
Three New Dining Concepts Enhance the Experience
Alongside the impressive pickleball courts, PKL Park Greenville introduced three innovative restaurants: The Kitchen at Mark V, Toastified, and Coop’s Crazy Chicken. These new dining spaces add an exciting culinary dimension to the park, perfectly complementing the venue’s entertainment offerings. Each restaurant was designed to match the park’s energetic vibe, creating a seamless blend of food, music, and leisure.
The Kitchen at Mark V, located at the heart of the space, serves as the primary dining option, offering a menu that caters to a variety of tastes. Toastified and Coop’s Crazy Chicken, while both distinct in their offerings, share a commitment to quality food and a relaxed, fun atmosphere.
Toastified’s menu is inspired by the lifestyle of its owners, while Coop’s Crazy Chicken pays homage to a beloved family member. Together, the three concepts ensure that visitors have an array of dining options to enjoy as they watch live music, catch a game on the 20-foot television screen, or participate in a game of pickleball.
A Vision Realized After Years of Effort
The realization of PKL Park Greenville came after two years of searching for the right location throughout the Upstate. John Sharkey and Nick Gilley, the co-owners of the park, ultimately chose the former Mark V Studios site—a 1960s independent recording studio that had operated in Greenville for three decades.
This historical location, now revitalized, spans over three acres and can accommodate up to 875 guests. Both Sharkey and Gilley have expressed excitement about the possibilities this space holds, not only for pickleball but as a vibrant, year-round social hub for Greenville residents and visitors.
