The Picklr Brings Indoor Pickleball Courts: Oro Valley is gearing up for a significant boost to its pickleball offerings. Utah-based company The Picklr has announced plans to establish a 30,000-square-foot indoor pickleball facility at the Oro Valley Marketplace at Oracle and Tangerine Roads. The venue, featuring 11 courts, is set to open in spring 2025, bringing an exciting new option to the area’s pickleball players. This venue complements existing pickleball courts at Naranja Park and the Oro Valley Community Center which have seen increasing demand.
Players Welcome Indoor Relief
For many, the fully indoor facility addresses a critical need for playing space, especially during Arizona’s scorching summer months. Christine Collins, a pickleball player with four years of experience, shared her excitement:
“I’m very excited. It’s really nice. I mean, we have the Oro Valley Community Center, but it’s so busy there now.” – (Christine Collins)
The new venue’s amenities will include lockers, showers, and a private event space, all aimed at elevating the playing experience.
Enhancing the Game and Community
Newcomer Jarod Taylor emphasized the safety and gameplay improvements an indoor venue offers.
“It can be legitimately dangerous to play in heat like that. You get dehydrated and tired. I think it’s going to level up our gameplay, and more courts will allow us to play with more of our friends. I think it’s going to be a good time.” – (Jarod Taylor)
Terry Sheldon, a seasoned pickleball player, praised the sense of community fostered by the sport and welcomed the facility’s contribution to its growth.
“The people that I meet, the camaraderie—it’s different from other sports I’ve participated in. It’s awesome. Just keep building them.” – (Terry Sheldon)

The Picklr’s grand opening is slated for March 2025, marking a significant milestone for Oro Valley’s pickleball community.
