Registration Details and Timeline
Registration for the 2025 UVTC Winter Jam opened on November 15, 2024, and will remain open until February 13, 2025. Players interested in competing should sign up early, as registration costs increase after December 15.
Early registration is priced at $40, with an additional $15 per event, while standard registration costs $55, also with an added $15 fee per event. Late registration, which begins after February 13, will be priced at $70 per player. The tournament will close registration if the maximum number of participants is reached.
Tournament Format and Divisions
The pickleball tournament will follow a round robin format, with age and skill divisions ranging from 3.0 to 4.5+. Playoffs will be held for gold, silver, and bronze positions within each skill bracket.
Age divisions will be determined after registration, with the aim of creating competitive brackets for players under 50, 50-59, and 60+. Players will self-rate and must play within their assigned skill level, with the option to play up in skill by half a point.
Matches will be held on temporary indoor courts on a tennis surface, using the Selkirk Pro S1 ball. The round robin games will be played to 15 points, with the exception of events with 7 or 8 teams, where matches will be played to 11 points.
The top four teams from each round robin group will advance to the playoff rounds, which include a Gold Match, Silver Match, and Bronze Match. The format for playoff matches will be determined by the tournament director.
Event Schedule and Important Information
The tournament will feature Men’s and Women’s Doubles on Saturday, February 22, and Mixed Doubles on Sunday, February 23. Partners must register within seven days of each other to ensure they are not placed on the waitlist.
Age brackets may be adjusted as needed, based on registration numbers. The tournament director reserves the right to combine divisions if necessary to ensure high-quality competition.
Refund and Withdrawal Policy
A $10 administration fee will be applied to all withdrawals, and if the event is canceled due to inclement weather, a refund of up to 50% may be issued. Players must withdraw by February 14, 2025, to be eligible for any refund.
