HHE New Year’s Pickle Ballooza Set to Kick Off the Year with Thrilling Matches in Ennis

The HHE New Year’s Pickle Ballooza promises to be a thrilling event for pickleball players, combining competitive play with a unique format and community spirit. Set against the scenic backdrop of Rotary Park in Ennis, Texas, this tournament is one not to miss.

Pickleball Event Format: The Dink Minor League Pickleball

• Teams play in a structured series of four 21-point games:
  1. Women’s doubles
  2. Men’s doubles
  3. Mixed doubles
  4. Mixed doubles
• If teams are tied after the first four games, they’ll battle it out in a DreamBreaker, an exciting tiebreaker with a rotational system involving all four players.
• Teams begin with round-robin group play, followed by the top four teams advancing to a playoff bracket.
• A third-place match will determine the tournament’s bronze winner.
• In round-robin play, all four games are played. For bracket play, teams can opt out of the fourth game if three consecutive wins secure the match.

• $45 per player
• Teams must register and pay together.

• DUPR 20: Maximum aggregate 20.999
• DUPR 18: Maximum aggregate 18.300 (individual player max 5.10)
• DUPR 16: Maximum aggregate 16.300 (individual player max 4.60)
• DUPR 14: Maximum aggregate 14.300 (individual player max 4.10)
• DUPR 12: Maximum aggregate 12.300

Tournament Rules

Rally Scoring

• A point is scored after each rally, regardless of who served or received.
• Teams must win by two points, and the serving team must have the last point to win. If the non-serving team wins a rally, they do not score but instead continue their serve.
• In case of a tie, rally scoring continues until one team wins by two.

Coin Toss

• At the start of each match, a coin toss (or similar random selection) determines the order of play.
• The winner of the coin toss can choose:
  1. To be the Home or Away team.
  2. Whether to serve or receive first.
  3. Which end of the court to start Women’s Doubles.
• The loser of the coin toss will choose from the remaining options.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

• Refunds are available for cancellations made by midnight on December 26, 2024.
• In the event of inclement weather, the tournament will be rescheduled.
