This pickleball event marks the grand opening of the 10-court venue and is expected to bring exciting competition for players of all skill levels.
Tournament Details and Schedule
The Winter in Paradise tournament will feature a range of divisions, including Men’s and Women’s Singles, Men’s and Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Competitors can sign up for events in age divisions such as 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+, and 60+, as well as skill levels from 3.0 to 5.0. The event will run from February 7 to February 9, 2025, with the following schedule:
- Feb 7: Men’s & Women’s Singles, Players Party & Welcome
- Feb 8: Men’s & Women’s Doubles
- Feb 9: Mixed Doubles
Registration Information
Registration for the tournament opens on December 6, 2024, at 12:00 PM EST, with the early registration fee set at $45.00. After January 1, 2025, the cost will rise to $55.00, and late registration (beginning January 27, 2025) will be $65.00.
Participants who sign up early will receive a free tournament t-shirt, although late registrants may not be guaranteed one. Event fees are $15 per skill and age event and $30 for Open Division events.
Special Promotions
As part of the grand opening of Performance Pickleball ROA, the tournament organizers are offering a special promotion for all tournament participants.
Registrants can receive credit toward their first month of membership at the new Roanoke facility. To qualify, players must notify the organizers when registering or by contacting them at info@ppbroa.com.
Prize Money and the Atlantic Union Bank Performance Series
The tournament also features a prize pool of up to $6,000, with cash awards for the top 3 finishers in each Open Division event. Additionally, the event is part of the Atlantic Union Bank Performance Series, which will offer standings points toward future competitions. Players who perform well in this series can earn prizes at the end of the year.
Tournament Format
This non-sanctioned tournament will follow USAP 2024/2025 rules. The format will vary across events. For skill and age divisions, players will compete in round-robin play followed by single elimination or medal matches. Open Division events will be double elimination. All matches will be livestreamed on the Performance Pickleball YouTube page.
Venue and Location
The Winter in Paradise tournament will be held at the new Performance Pickleball ROA at 3710 Tom Andrews Rd, Roanoke, VA. The venue boasts state-of-the-art indoor courts, providing an ideal setting for the competition. There is no parking fee at the venue.
