PURE Pickleball Facility Elevates Scottsdale’s Pickleball Scene

PURE Pickleball Facility: PURE Pickleball & Padel, slated to open in Scottsdale by 2026, promises to transform the pickleball landscape with a 50-court complex spanning over 180,000 square feet. Construction begins in 2025, signaling a new era for the rapidly growing sport. Featuring state-of-the-art amenities, the venue aims to attract players from across Arizona and beyond.

With nearly 19% of U.S. adults participating in pickleball in 2023, PURE responds to surging demand. Including USA Pickleball headquarters further elevates Scottsdale as a national hub for the sport.

Inspired by Family and Community

Co-founders Kevin J. Berk and Brett Warner, alongside Caliber Co., are leading the project, driven by their love for pickleball and a desire to enhance accessibility. Berk’s passion stems from family games with his mother, which sparked the vision for this ambitious facility.

“Scottsdale, Arizona, has got the best player community for the whole sport (compared to) anywhere else in the country. This is where you’ve got players all year long, 100-plus degree heat, they’re here at sunrise, they’re here after sunset. If something like this doesn’t work in Scottsdale, it’s not going to work anywhere.” – (Warner)

Situated near Loop 101 North, between Topgolf Scottsdale and OdySea Aquarium, the location reflects a strategic choice to leverage Scottsdale’s vibrant sports culture. “This is where you’ve got players all year long,” Warner noted, emphasizing the city’s dedication to outdoor sports.

Building a Community Hub

PURE will feature 48 pickleball courts, two padel courts, and additional rollout spaces for tournaments. Amenities such as rooftop bars, childcare services, and event spaces are designed to foster community engagement. Warner envisions the facility as a gathering place for players of all ages and skill levels, offering lessons, clinics, and junior programs.

The emphasis on inclusivity extends to health-conscious designs, such as cushioned court surfaces and broadcast-level lighting. These features aim to elevate player safety and performance while ensuring a professional-grade experience.

A Sport for All Ages

PURE also seeks to connect generations, embracing pickleball’s roots as a family activity while preparing for its future. By partnering with local schools for field trips and after-school programs, the facility hopes to cultivate the next generation of players. Players like KC Whitaker and Brent Weston praise pickleball for its social and competitive appeal. Whitaker shared,

“You get welcomed in very easily by the community, and you start playing. You meet new friends. I have a ton of new friends ever since I’ve been playing pickleball, yet I can compete. It’s a sport, so I can compete.” – (KC Whitaker)

Ready for a New Chapter in Pickleball

PURE Pickleball & Padel is set to redefine sports in Scottsdale, combining world-class facilities with community-centered initiatives. From beginners to seasoned players, the venue will cater to all, fostering friendships and a love for the game.

“Start playing pickleball now. This is one where you’re going to be able to play every day. You’re going to be able to play and meet new friends. You’re going to be able to play with your business partners. Start playing now.” – (Warner)
