The Fairview Beginner Pickleball Clinic is designed to introduce new players to pickleball in a welcoming and structured environment. Set for December 9th from 4:15 PM to 6:15 PM at the Fairview Recreation Complex, this two-hour session will cover the essential rules, safety protocols, and etiquette needed to enjoy the game. Participants will also learn key skills and techniques, ensuring they leave the clinic with a solid foundation in pickleball.
What to Expect
This clinic will be led by Terry Howell, a Level 1 Certified Pickleball Instructor with experience teaching adults and children. The session will focus on fundamental skills, including how to score and keep score, paddle management, footwork, and various techniques such as forehand and backhand drives, serving, returning, and volleying. There will also be instruction on dinking and lobbing, ensuring participants gain a broad understanding of the game’s key elements.
The teaching method is designed to be highly interactive, with the instructor describing, demonstrating, and guiding participants through each skill. Players will have plenty of opportunities to practice while receiving personalized feedback from Howell. By the end of the clinic, participants will be comfortable playing doubles and applying the techniques they’ve learned.

This clinic will take place indoors at the gymnasium of the Fairview Recreation Complex, a convenient and spacious venue for pickleball instruction. Paddles will be available for participants to borrow, making it easy for newcomers to get involved without the need for their own equipment.
