Pickleball Meets Golf in Jacksonville: In Jacksonville, a new entertainment venue is set to open in the fall of 2025, blending indoor pickleball, golf, and craft beer. Chipshot, a 30,000-square-foot golf and pickleball facility, will be located at 13164 Atlantic Boulevard, at the corner of Atlantic and Hodges Boulevards. The project is a collaboration between PGA Tour professional Thomas Walsh and Scott Adeeb, owner of Strings Sports Brewery.
A Unique Venue with Multiple Attractions
The new venue will house eight pickleball courts, four golf simulators, and 25 televisions, making it an all-in-one hub for entertainment. A standout feature of Chipshot will be its partnership with Strings Sports Brewery, known for its innovative “beer wall.” This self-service beer station allows customers to pour their drinks, eliminating long wait times and enhancing the customer experience.
“When I go to a lot of these places, you pay for an hour, but by the time you order, you wait in line, the waiter or waitress brings you out the food and you check out, in the hour you paid for you’ve gotten 30 minutes of entertainment. We’re looking to change that dynamic by giving customers more time to enjoy the experience.” – (Walsh)
Innovative Features to Improve the Customer Experience
Chipshot will also incorporate QR codes to allow guests to order food directly to their table, reducing the need for a server and improving overall efficiency. By keeping staffing requirements low, Walsh and Adeeb can offer more affordable prices for customers.
Pickleball court rentals will range from $30 to $40 per hour, depending on the day and time, making it a cost-effective way to enjoy the sport in a modern, entertainment-focused setting.
A Long-Term Investment in Jacksonville’s Entertainment Scene
The Chipshot project, which Walsh has been working on for over three years, faces a variety of challenges, from securing the right facility to meeting the technical specifications for the building. However, Walsh is committed to the vision.
“I’ve been working on this for three years. We really had a difficult time, because these facilities are tough to get. They’re 30,000 square feet, they have to have certain ceiling heights. The foundational poles have to be certain feet apart. It really limits your options.” – (Walsh)
The opening of Chipshot marks just the beginning of Walsh and Adeeb’s investment in Jacksonville’s entertainment industry.
“We’re investing heavily in it. We made a long commitment to Jacksonville, so I hope they enjoy it as much as we will, because we’re working hard.” – (Walsh)
