ETC End of Year Smash 2024 Set to Bring Pickleball Action to Evansville

The ETC End of Year Smash 2024 will once again gather pickleball players from across the region for a weekend of friendly yet competitive play. Scheduled for December 28-29, 2024, this event promises to be more than just a series of matches—it’s also a fundraiser for the Evansville Tennis Center (ETC), supporting the growing pickleball community.

Tournament Overview

The third annual pickleball tournament will feature a round-robin format, allowing players to compete in multiple games within their respective age and skill divisions. The pickleball event will be split across two main days, with Doubles play taking center stage on Saturday, Dec. 28, and Mixed Doubles following on Sunday, Dec. 29.

Participants will have the opportunity to compete in a range of divisions, with age groups spanning from 19-49 and 50+ and skill levels ranging from 3.0 and under, 3.5, to 4.0+.

For some divisions, it may be necessary to combine age and skill levels, depending on the number of registrations. The goal remains to give every player a fair and competitive environment while providing a fun and engaging tournament experience.

Important Details: Registration and Costs

The registration window opens on November 1, 2024, and closes sharply on December 20, 2024, at noon CST. Participants can sign up for the $40 registration fee, plus $5 per event selected. USSP members enjoy a $10 discount on the total tournament cost.

The Evansville Tennis Center at 5428 Davis Lant Drive, Evansville, Indiana, will host the event, with plenty of space for participants and spectators. While there is no parking fee, players are reminded not to park on the grass to maintain the venue’s pristine condition.

Court Etiquette and Event Guidelines

As with any well-organized tournament, participants are expected to adhere to the court etiquette set forth by the Evansville Tennis Center. There will be no food or drinks allowed on the courts, except for water, and spectators will be asked to stay in the mezzanine area. Courts will have chairs provided by the facility, and players are asked not to bring their chairs or coolers onto the courts.

The tournament has a no-refund policy, so participants are urged to ensure their partner registers by the deadline. Once registration closes, the entry caps per event will be strictly enforced, so timely registration is key.
