Fort Washington Pickleball Tournament: The Fort Washington Swim and Tennis Club will host its annual pickleball tournament from May 16-18, 2025, in Amber, Pennsylvania. The event will feature men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles matches. Registration is open now and runs until October 1, 2025.
Tournament Format
The tournament will follow a double-elimination format. Matches in the winner’s bracket will play best of three games to 11 points, win by 2. Consolation bracket matches will be one game to 15 points, win by 2. Each team can take two timeouts per game.
The tournament director may adjust the brackets as needed, and players will be responsible for self-officiating their matches, with one referee present on site.
Pickleball Event Schedule
The tournament is divided into three days:
- Friday, May 16: Men’s and women’s singles.
- Saturday, May 17: Men’s and women’s doubles.
- Sunday, May 18: Mixed doubles.
Registration and Fees
To compete in the tournament, players must pay a $40 registration fee plus $10 per event. The cost covers the Pickleball Brackets platform fee. Participants will play with Franklin X-40 balls, except for the open division, which will use Dura Fast 40 balls.
Rules and Equipment
The tournament follows USAPA rules as closely as possible, though it is not a sanctioned event. Medals will be awarded to the top three teams in each bracket. Players should expect to compete outdoors on asphalt courts, with portable nets. Parking is free for all attendees.
Refund Policy
A 75% refund is available for cancellations made before May 1, 2024. After this date, no refunds will be issued, and there will be no refunds due to rain. If the tournament is canceled due to inclement weather, a full refund minus a $5 processing fee per event will be provided. The tournament coordinators will do their best to ensure all matches are played.
