New Pickleball Facility in Jacksonville: The Paddle Lands Pickleball Club is set to open a new indoor pickleball facility at Oakleaf Station in Southwest Jacksonville. The city issued a permit on Dec. 13 for the club’s tenant build-out, marking a key step in the nearly $681,397 project.
Located at 8402 Merchants Way, next to Bailey’s Health & Fitness, the 18,850-square-foot facility will feature seven full-sized air-conditioned courts and a range of amenities.
A New Space for Pickleball Players
The Paddle Lands Pickleball Club promises to elevate the pickleball experience in Jacksonville. The facility will include open play sessions, leagues, and social play options, along with professional instruction. Additional features include a lounge serving food and beverages, locker rooms with showers, and space for social events.

Alcohol Waiver Approved
In September, the Jacksonville Planning Commission approved an alcohol waiver for the club, allowing it to sell beer and wine. The waiver reduced the minimum required distance from a church from 1,500 feet to 1,030 feet. Elevate Life Church is located southeast of the pickleball center along Merchants Way.
Impact on the Community
The Paddle Lands aims to provide a dynamic space for fitness and recreation while fostering community engagement. The addition of beer and wine service adds a social dimension to the club’s offerings, making it a unique venue in the Oakleaf Town Center area.
The club is expected to attract pickleball players of all levels and serve as a hub for leagues, casual play, and gatherings. The opening date is yet to be announced, but excitement is building for this new addition to Jacksonville’s recreation scene.
