Nassau Pickleball 365 is set to make a splash when it opens its doors on January 4, 2025, in Yulee, Florida. The facility, located at 86365 Koen Lane, promises to cater to the surging demand for dedicated pickleball courts in Nassau County, offering a state-of-the-art experience for both seasoned players and newcomers. With an investment of $3.25 million, this covered pickleball complex features eight regulation-sized courts designed to shield players from the elements, ensuring that the fun doesn’t stop, rain or shine.
The decision to develop this facility stems from a growing recognition of pickleball’s popularity in the U.S. As co-owner Shelly Duncan noted,
“A couple of years ago, we started daydreaming (perhaps obsessing) about building a pickleball facility in Nassau County to satisfy the demand for more courts.”(Shelly Duncan )
The vision has materialized, providing a well-equipped venue that includes individual court fencing for privacy, as well as amenities like a clubhouse, a merchandise nook for paddles and accessories, and a player patio that encourages social interaction among participants.
A Community-Centric Approach
Beyond just courts and amenities, Nassau Pickleball 365 aims to foster a vibrant community spirit. The facility will offer limited memberships, allowing members to reserve courts and receive reduced rates for events and programming. However, nonmembers are also welcome, ensuring that the facility remains accessible to everyone interested in pickleball. With hours of operation from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, it caters to various schedules, making it easier for local players to find time to play.
Duncan’s enthusiasm is palpable as she emphasizes the facility’s role in enhancing the local pickleball scene.
“This project reflects the rising demand for dedicated pickleball venues,” (Shelly Duncan).
The new center is expected not only to serve as a hub for recreational play but also to host tournaments and events that will elevate the profile of pickleball in the region. This facility is set to invigorate the local economy by attracting visitors, creating jobs, and becoming a central point for sports and recreation in Yulee.
