Upgrades at Lauren C. Bolles Park
Four tennis courts were resurfaced and striped for both Pickleball and Tennis. This pickleball project, costing $180,000, was fully funded by Representative Debbie Sariñana. The courts were last resurfaced in 2004.
“I’m proud to support these projects, which support healthy activity and community wellness,”. “These investments improve neighborhoods and benefit the entire City.”\( Sariñana)
Improvements at Jerry Cline Tennis Center
At Jerry Cline Tennis Center, eight of 18 courts have been resurfaced, with plans to resurface five more in 2025. New LED light fixtures will also be installed on all 13 lighted courts as part of the next phase of upgrades. These courts were last resurfaced in 2011.
The resurfacing and safety upgrades were funded through contributions from Representatives Debbie Sariñana, Marian Matthews, Elizabeth Thomson, Gail Chasey, and former Representative Christine Trujillo. Additional funding for the LED lighting will come from a combination of state capital outlay and City funds.
Benefits for the Community
The new courts and free events aim to promote active lifestyles and community engagement. Local leaders emphasize the significance of such projects for enhancing neighborhoods and encouraging wellness.
As Albuquerque continues to invest in its parks, these improvements underscore the city’s commitment to providing top-notch recreational facilities for residents of all ages.
