Cochrane Indoor Pickleball Association: Building Community Through Charity

The Cochrane Indoor Pickleball Association has successfully stocked the Cochrane Food Bank through a recent food drive, demonstrating the community spirit among its members. Since early December, the group has raised nearly $800 in cash donations while filling two bins with non-perishable food items over the last three months.

Generous Contributions

Chair Bill Cooper highlighted the ongoing commitment of the association to support the food bank.

Growing Community

What started as a simple booking of time for 50 players four years ago has transformed into a thriving community of nearly 200 pickleball players at the SLS Centre.

As the Cochrane Indoor Pickleball Association enters its fifth year, it has been formalized, allowing for better organization and outreach. A recent survey of members indicated a desire for more activities.

Expanding Opportunities

Cooper noted that members are eager for more practice sessions, ladder sessions, tournaments, and social events.

As the group grows and organizes more events, its influence on the community is expected to increase, further enhancing the spirit of giving during the holiday season and beyond.
