Pickleball Tournament Aids CRC’s Winter Clothes Drive: Dave Marshall Tennis & Pickleball hosted a pickleball tournament on November 16 to raise donations for the Community Resource Center’s (CRC) winter clothes drive. Participants and sponsors contributed more than 300 pieces of clothing to support the CRC’s efforts to help local families and individuals in need during the winter season.
The donations have been a significant help to the CRC, which provides essential services to people in Rehoboth Beach.
“The donation represents a great boost to the CRC’s winter clothing distribution program. We have been able to give away more than 400 pieces of clothing to our neighbors in need thanks to generous local businesses like Dave Marshall Tennis & Pickleball supporting our mission,”(Nancy Alexander, director of the CRC).
Supporting the Community
The winter clothing drive is an important initiative for the CRC. Winter clothing helps working individuals stay warm during their commutes, children stay warm on their way to school, and those who are homeless can stay warm while on the move.
“We are so very grateful for this gift,”, highlighting the importance of the donations for those who rely on the CRC’s support.(Nancy Alexander)
CRC Services in Rehoboth Beach
Based in Rehoboth Beach, the CRC offers a variety of services, including emergency assistance, a baby pantry, a job center, a day center, and food rescue programs. The center’s mission is to provide essential resources to people in need, especially during the colder months when warmth is a priority.
The donations from the pickleball tournament play a key role in ensuring the CRC can continue providing these services and meet the needs of the community.
Impact and Future Support
The success of the tournament and the generous donations show the power of community involvement. The CRC’s ability to distribute winter clothing to those in need has been enhanced by the support from local businesses and individuals. The event has made a significant difference for those who depend on the CRC, and it highlights the importance of community partnerships in times of need.
