APP Announces 2025 U.S. National Team Roster to Shape Future of Pickleball

APP Announces 2025 U.S. National Team: The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) has revealed the 2025 APP U.S. National Team, consisting of 13 young, promising pickleball professionals. These players were selected based on rankings, tournament results, head-to-head performances, and their development potential in the sport.

A Platform for Future Champions

The team will undergo a comprehensive program designed to hone their skills, including training camps, coaching, mentoring, and physical evaluations. Players will also have opportunities to compete internationally in prestigious pickleball events powered by the APP.

APP Founder Ken Herrmann emphasized the importance of the Next Gen program, which serves as the talent pipeline for the national team.

“One of my main missions at the APP has always been to provide a platform to develop future pickleball champions, and that’s at the core of the APP Next Gen program, from which we source the APP U.S. National Team players.” – (Herrmann)

The 2025 team includes talented athletes from across the country, ranging from seasoned players to emerging stars. The roster consists of:

Schull Shares Excitement for Team

Alexa Schull, who recently claimed first place at the 2024 APP Next Gen Series event in Fort Lauderdale, expressed her enthusiasm about joining the team.

“I’m so honored to be part of this year’s APP U.S. National Team. Being part of this amazing team, with some of the best coaches and players in the sport, will help me take my game to the next level.” – (Schull)

Coaching Staff and Training at The Fort

Ken Herrmann will serve as the director of the 2025 APP U.S. National Team. He will be joined by Chad Edwards, a former collegiate coach and current APP Tour broadcaster, and Lee Whitwell, an AARP Champions Division APP Tour pro, who will both serve as head coaches.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to coach and develop the next generation of up-and-coming pros as the head coach of the APP U.S. National Team. The APP is setting the standard for growth and development of players across the board and this team highlights the support the APP provides. The team will train at The Fort, APP’s state-of-the-art training and development facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Fort features 43 courts, including the world’s first pickleball stadium, offering an ideal environment for players to improve their skills and develop their game.

Camron Reflects on the Training Opportunity

Ronan Camron, a Fort Myers native, shared his excitement about the resources available at The Fort.

“Being able to train at The Fort with my fellow teammates is an incredible opportunity. The resources at The Fort are second-to-none, and being able to create friendships and be mentored by Ken, Chad and Lee is a huge honor to be part of.” – (Ronan Camron)
