2025 APP U.S. Collegiate Championships: The Event That Changed the Game for College Pickleball!

The University of Florida (UF) won the team championship at the 2025 APP U.S. Collegiate Championships in Cape Coral, Florida. The event, organized by the Association of Pickleball Players (APP) and presented by PB5star, featured 32 of the nation’s best college pickleball teams.

Individual Competition Highlights

In mixed doubles, Alexandra McDonald from Virginia and Jack Munro from Texas claimed the gold medal by defeating Bella Nelson from Florida Atlantic and Aidan Schenk from Loyola Marymount with a close score of 18-16. The bronze medal went to the Utah Tech duo of Averee Beck and Benson Parry.

In women’s doubles, the final featured an all-Utah Tech showdown. Yolena Carlon and Mary Monson secured the title over their teammates Averee Beck and Kamryn Bliss with a score of 15-10. Tami Eliasova and Elisabeth Matas Martin from Drury earned the bronze medal in this category.

Jack Munro continued his success by winning the men’s doubles title with Liam Duffin from Utah Tech. They defeated the Grand Canyon University team of Justin Brunner and Adam Jones, finishing with a score of 15-9. The bronze medal was awarded to Jared Brungard from Utah Tech and Piercarlo Usai from TCU.

In women’s singles, Mary Monson from Utah Tech dominated her match against Ava Cavataio from Florida Atlantic, winning 11-4 for her second gold medal of the tournament. Zora Hudson from Stanford took home the bronze medal.

The championship concluded with a thrilling men’s singles final. Will Lieberman from Drury defeated Conor Burns from Virginia with a close score of 11-8. Jake Bower from Florida added to his medal collection with a bronze in this event.
