Richard Livornese Jr. and Tanner Tomassi Clinch Back-to-Back Pickleball Titles in Thrilling APP Great Lakes Open Finale

Richard Livornese Jr. and Tanner Tomassi repeated as champions in men’s pro doubles at the 2025 APP Great Lakes Open on August 17. The pair defeated Clayton Powell and Aidan Schenk in straight games during Championship Sunday at the Greater Midland Tennis Center.

Defending Champions Hold Strong

Richard Livornese Jr. and Tanner Tomassi entered the final as the defending champions. Facing APP U.S. National Team members Clayton Powell and Aidan Schenk, who were playing their first final together, the duo started strong with an 11-5 win in game one.

In the second game, Clayton Powell and Aidan Schenk led early 5-1 and were ahead 9-7 late. But Richard Livornese Jr. and Tanner Tomassi showed composure, scoring the last four points to win 11-7 and clinch their second straight men’s doubles title.
