APP Serves Up Hope: New Shriners Children’s Partnership Unites Pickleball and Pediatric Care

Association of Pickleball Players Charity Partnership: The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) has named Shriners Children’s as its official charity partner through a new multi-year agreement. The partnership will focus on raising funds and awareness for pediatric specialty care while also supporting the growth of pickleball across the United States.

Partnership Goals and Community Efforts

The agreement includes co-branded community projects designed to benefit Shriners Children’s. These efforts will also introduce pickleball to more communities nationwide. Activities will include fundraising events at pickleball clubs, corporate challenges, donor events, and clinics. Virtual challenges and fitness-based programs will also be part of the plan.

National Events and Promotions

A major highlight will be the annual APP Shriners Children’s Pro Invitational. This nationally televised tournament will feature top APP professional players and directly benefit Shriners Children’s. In addition, Shriners branding will appear in digital promotions, on-site signage, and broadcasts at all APP Tour stops.

Leadership Reactions

APP Founder Ken Herrmann expressed gratitude for the new partnership.
“We are honored to partner with such a remarkable leader in Shriners Children’s, whose values are near and dear to our hearts,” said Herrmann. “We are proud to support them and equally grateful for their support of the APP. We look forward to making a powerful impact on many lives together, through pickleball, for many years to come.”

Shriners Children’s also welcomed the opportunity.
“Partnering with the Association of Pickleball Players gives our healthcare system an exciting new platform to share our mission with sports fans and pickleball enthusiasts around the United States,” said Dr. Leslie D. Stewart, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Shriners Children’s. “Shriners Children’s experienced and innovative medical teams provide hope and healing for children around the world. Aligning with the Association of Pickleball Players will help us reach the next generation of supporters and improve the lives of more children in more places.”

Impact and Future Outlook

Every dollar raised through this partnership will go toward Shriners Children’s mission of providing medical care in orthopedics, burns, cleft lip and palate, and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Importantly, care is offered regardless of a family’s ability to pay or insurance coverage.

Shriners Children’s is already involved in pickleball, with a fundraising page live on its website. This new collaboration with the APP expands its reach and will help bring both awareness and funding to children in need.
