Florida Atlantic University Wins Regional Pickleball Title: Florida Atlantic University claimed its second regional pickleball title of the semester, defeating the University of Florida Blue team to win first place at the APP Southeast Collegiate Regional. This victory also earned them one of the four coveted bids to the APP Collegiate National Championships in March.
College Pickleball Gets More Competitive
Twelve teams vied in the regional tournament, with high-energy matches all weekend. The University of Florida’s Orange team secured third place after defeating in-state rival Florida State University, adding another Gator team to the podium.
Florida State finished in fourth, clinching the final spot for the National Championships. This marks the end of the regional qualifying events, but it sets the stage for an exciting National Championship in March.
Talent on Display
The regional tournament was a showcase for the rising stars of college pickleball, with the APP Next Gen and Collegiate Regional events running at the same time. Ken Herrmann, founder of the APP, was impressed by the high level of play.

What’s Next?
College pickleball will take a break for the holidays, but the action will resume in 2025. Thirty-two schools that qualified through regional events will compete in the APP Collegiate National Championships, scheduled for March 28-30 at Lake Kennedy Racquet Club in Cape Coral, Florida.
