RTM DUPR 3.5-3.9 Sessions: The Road to Minors (RTM) DUPR sessions for players with ratings between 3.5 and 3.9 will begin on January 31, 2025, at Down the Line (DTL) Sports Center in Fairfax, Virginia. Registration is open until February 23, 2025, with a $30 fee. These sessions are the first step for aspiring players to qualify for the D.C. Pickleball Team’s Minor League Pickleball (MiLP) rosters.
What is DUPR?
DUPR, or Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating, is a system designed to match players based on their skill level for competitive play. Players earn their DUPR by participating in sanctioned events and recording their match results.
These sessions are a prerequisite for the RTM tournament series, which leads to qualifying for MiLP rosters in various rating levels from 12 to 22.
Session Format and Requirements
The RTM sessions for the 3.5-3.9 DUPR level will be in a round-robin format. Players will be paired with different partners throughout the session, which lasts about two hours. No pre-registered partners are needed.
Participants must have an active DUPR account and be members of Down the Line and the D.C. Pickleball Team. Players must complete two RTM DUPR sessions to be eligible for most upcoming RTM tournaments.
Perks and Rewards
Players who attend the RTM DUPR sessions will receive a branded item and have the chance to win raffle prizes. Additionally, joining Down the Line and D.C. Pickleball Team club accounts enters players for a chance to win 2025 MLP D.C. tickets.
All sessions count toward a player’s official DUPR rating, helping them track their progress on the Road to the Minors.
Registration and Refund Policy
Registration is open until February 23, 2025, and costs $30. However, there is a no-refund policy for cancellations made less than seven days before an event. Cancellations made at least 48 hours in advance may receive a refund if a waitlisted player fills the spot.
These sessions offer a great opportunity for competitive pickleball players to improve their skills, gain exposure, and qualify for D.C. Pickleball Team’s MiLP rosters. Players who complete the sessions will be one step closer to joining Minor League Pickleball.
