Major League Pickleball Plans to Become Profitable by 2025, Expanding with New Franchises in 2026

Major League Pickleball Plans to Become Profitable: Major League Pickleball (MLP) is on track to become profitable by the end of this year and plans to expand shortly. The league aims to reach average profitability for individual teams by 2027, with two expansion franchises likely to start play in 2026.

Profitability on the Horizon for Major League Pickleball

According to a report from CNBC’s Jessica Golden, Major League Pickleball is targeting profitability at the league level by the fourth quarter of 2025.

Currently, two of the league’s 22 teams are profitable, and one has reached breakeven status. The league is working towards ensuring that teams become financially stable and sustainable in the coming years.

“The MLP, which started in 2021, is targeting profitability at the league level by the fourth quarter of this year. Expansion Plans for 2026

Major League Pickleball is also focused on expanding its reach. The league plans to sell two new franchises by 2026. The exact price for a new franchise has not been confirmed, but reports suggest that each franchise will cost around $15 million.

There is strong interest from potential investors, with nearly two dozen parties expressing interest over the past two weeks.
