Frisco Pandas Relocate to Nashville: A New Era Begins for Major League Pickleball

Frisco Pandas Relocate to Nashville: The Frisco Pandas have announced their move to Nashville, TN, marking a significant change for the franchise. The relocation aims to enhance fan engagement and leverage Nashville’s vibrant culture. Additionally, the team will host an open tryout for players without UPA contracts on February 19.

A New Beginning for the Pandas

This relocation is the Pandas’ first major decision since The Kitchen Pickleball took over the team’s marketing and operations last November. The move reflects a strategic effort to build a stronger fanbase in a city renowned for its sports and entertainment scenes.

Jared Paul, General Manager of the Pandas and founder of The Kitchen Pickleball, expressed enthusiasm for the transition. “We’re excited to bring Major League Pickleball to Nashville, a city known for its passion for sports, entertainment, and community,” he stated. He emphasized that this move would help grow the team’s presence in the sport.

Groundbreaking Open Tryouts

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Pandas will conduct an ‘open tryout’ on February 19 at Proton HQ in Mesa, AZ, during the PPA’s Carvana Mesa Cup. This event will allow players without United Pickleball Association (UPA) contracts to compete. Winners, one male and one female, will earn UPA contracts, endorsement deals from Proton Pickleball, and shoe deals.

The Pandas’ decision to hold open tryouts may encourage other teams to engage with their local markets. This initiative could lead to more open opportunities for aspiring players across the league.

Looking Ahead: Potential for Growth

Overall, this move and the introduction of open tryouts signify a new chapter for the Frisco Pandas, offering potential growth for the team and greater involvement in the Nashville community. The franchise’s plans may inspire other teams to follow suit, fostering a more inclusive environment in Major League Pickleball.
