Texas Ranchers Aim to Redefine Sports Ownership
The Texas Ranchers are a top MLP team based in Austin, Texas. The team is owned by over 40 people, including athletes, artists, and business leaders. Evan Floersch, a 27-year-old entrepreneur, leads the group along with Ted Moskovitz, Pierre Scholz, Alex Maxson, and Ryan Dawidjan.
The Ranchers want to change how people see sports ownership. They focus on making a positive impact through the team and building strong ties with the community.
Utah Black Diamonds Shine With Local Talent
The Utah Black Diamonds are a Premier Level MLP team. The team is proudly owned by the Pardoe Family. The Black Diamonds feature top pickleball athletes like Tyler Loong, Connor Garnett, Allyce Jones, and Genie Erokhina.
Many of the players are from Utah, giving the team a strong local connection and fanbase. Their goal is to compete at a high level and grow the sport in their home state.
Bay Area Breakers Lead With Culture and Purpose
The Bay Area Breakers started in 2022 by Mimi and David Mercado and Ritchie Tuazon. The team was first called the Jackrabbits. In 2023, new owners joined, including Geoffrey Nguyen, Wayley and Kathleen Louie, Jeff and Stacey Nishi, and NBA star Jeremy Lin.
Most of the owners are Asian Americans, and many graduated from UC Berkeley. They hope the Breakers will help grow pickleball among Asian and Asian American communities.
California Black Bears Inspired by Passion
The California Black Bears began in 2021, started by Ritchie Tuazon. He found pickleball in January 2021 and loved it right away. When he learned about MLP, he saw it as a great chance to invest in a sport he enjoyed.
Tuazon, from Pasadena, CA, wanted to build something meaningful through the Black Bears and help the sport grow across California.
What This Means for Pickleball’s Future
These teams and their owners bring more than money. They bring passion, purpose, and new fans. Their different backgrounds help pickleball reach new groups of people. With local heroes, strong leaders, and big dreams, MLP is set to become one of the most exciting leagues in American sports.
