St. Louis Shock’s MLP Sweep: The St. Louis Shock remained undefeated with a 4-0 sweep over the Atlanta Bouncers, improving their record to 3-0 in the 2025 Major League Pickleball Columbus season. The Shock dominated the match, adding eight points to their tally and continuing their strong performance.
Close Call in Men’s Doubles
Atlanta’s Jaume Martinez Vich and Todd Fought almost pulled off a significant victory in men’s doubles. However, the Shock’s Hayden Patriquin and Gabe Tardio fought hard, taking the match 12-10 in a nail-biting finish. This win put St. Louis up 2-0 in the overall score.
Shock Return to Winning Pairings in Mixed Doubles
For mixed doubles, St. Louis switched back to their 2024 pairings of Kate Fahey and Gabe Tardio, along with Anna Bright and Hayden Patriquin, after experimenting with different combinations earlier in the season. The familiar pairings proved successful, with both teams securing easy wins to complete the sweep. Kate Fahey commented on her partnership with Gabe Tardio, saying,
“We like playing together a lot, and we’re happy to be back on the court together. I think we would get up in matches last year and kind of let the lead slip away. When we’re at our best, we’re a hard team to beat, so we’re just looking to be a little bit more consistent and get some wins for the Shock.” – (Fahey)
