St. Louis Shock Stays Unbeaten: Anna Bright Ignites Dominant Sweep at 2025 MLP Columbus

St. Louis Shock’s MLP Columbus Victory: The St. Louis Shock earned their fifth straight win of the 2025 season with a 4-0 sweep over the Columbus Sliders at the MLP Columbus presented by The James at Ohio State at Pickle & Chill. The win keeps St. Louis undefeated at 5-0 with 14 points, while the Sliders drop to 6-4 with 17 points after suffering their second straight loss.

Bright and Fahey Set the Tone Early

Playing against the hometown team is always tough, but St. Louis started strong in women’s doubles. Anna Bright and Kate Fahey defeated Lea Jansen and Parris Todd to open the match. That first win helped set the pace for the rest of the contest. Anna Bright shared how she felt before stepping onto the court.

“I was actually feeling very nervous and anxious before this match, and I told some members of the team that that’s usually when I play my best. I was kind of seeing melons out there.” – (Bright)

Sliders Missing Key Player

The Columbus Sliders were without CJ Klinger for a third match due to illness. His absence may have affected the team’s rhythm, especially after they had won six matches in a row before this recent skid.

With this loss, the Sliders now look to stop their losing streak. They will have a chance to bounce back in their next match against the Atlanta Bouncers on Sunday.

Shock Ready for Saturday Night Pickleball

The St. Louis Shock will return to action for a high-profile matchup against the Orlando Squeeze in the second edition of Saturday Night Pickleball. With momentum on their side, the team will aim to extend their winning run and stay on top in the early part of the season.
