Texas Ranchers Dominate Orlando Squeeze in Flawless Win at 2025 MLP Austin Opener

Texas Ranchers Dominate Orlando Squeeze: The Texas Ranchers made their home fans proud on Friday afternoon by winning all four games in a 4-0 victory over the Orlando Squeeze. The match was part of the 2025 MLP Austin season and took place at the Austin Pickle Ranch.

Texas improved to 4-1 with 12 points, while Orlando dropped to 9-3 but remains at 25 points. It was the only Premier Level match of the day in Austin.

Strong Start Sets the Tone

Tina Pisnik and Etta Tuionetoa gave Texas the early lead by defeating Lacy Schneemann and Samantha Parker 11-9 in women’s doubles. Pisnik said her play improved as the game went on.

“I had a few good defensive shots at the end of the game. I don’t think I played clean to start the game, but those few points where I was able to keep us in the point turned the match around and set the tone for the rest of the match.” – (Pisnik)

Oncins and Alshon Dominate

Eric Oncins and Christian Alshon kept the momentum going in men’s doubles. They beat Federico Staksrud and Dylan Frazier 11-2, giving Texas a 2-0 advantage.

Oncins, a 23-year-old from Brazil who joined the Ranchers in March, shared his excitement about being part of the team.

“I couldn’t be happier to be here with my teammates, always carrying me throughout the matches, on and off the court. We came in with a game plan, we executed, and we played really well. I felt like I executed my shots, and then we came away with the win.” – (Oncins)

Victory Secured in Mixed Doubles

The Ranchers sealed the win in the third match. Eric Oncins and Tina Pisnik defeated Federico Staksrud and Lacy Schneemann 11-4. Oncins praised Pisnik’s outstanding performance.

“I can’t even call her a player, it’s like a wall. She’s making every ball. I feel like I can play as free as possible, and that matches well with my gamestyle.” – (Oncins)

Pisnik stressed the importance of staying focused as the weekend continues.

“We go one match at a time, one practice at a time, one lunch at a time. It’s literally one point at a time. We have a game plan, but we have to stay present, we have to stay in the moment and execute what the plan is, and then hope that it goes our way like it did today.” – (Pisnik)

Ready for Rivalry Match

The final match of the day saw Christian Alshon and Etta Tuionetoa defeat Dylan Frazier and Samantha Parker 11-6 in mixed doubles, making it a perfect 4-0 day for Texas. Tina Pisnik is already looking forward to the next match against the Dallas Flash on Saturday.

“It’s just exciting to play good pickle and play against top teams and top players. It’s good to have the atmosphere of playing on the home court and having that crowd behind us all the way.” – (Pisnik)
