Phoenix Flames Faces Shocking Setback at Home: Will Roster Shakeup Save Their Season?

Phoenix Flames Faces Shocking Setback at Home: The Phoenix Flames faced a tough week at the Major League Pickleball event held at the 2025 MLP Phoenix, located at the Arizona Athletic Grounds. Despite a loud and supportive crowd, Phoenix managed to earn only two points from six matches.

Home Crowd Can’t Lift Phoenix

The Phoenix Flames hosted the event, giving them a home-court advantage. However, that support did not lead to wins on the court. The team was able to win just one match, a close 21-19 DreamBreaker against the Atlanta Bouncers.

Genie Bouchard had a hard time during the event. Other teams targeted her in matches, and she struggled to keep up with the speed and play of her opponents.

Alex Walker Steps In

In Phoenix’s first match, Alex Walker stepped in for Genie Bouchard and played solidly. Walker’s strong performance has raised questions about possible lineup changes. The team may now have to consider giving Walker more playing time going forward.

What This Means for Phoenix

The Flames’ weak performance hurts their chances in the playoff race. They now sit near the bottom of the standings. The team needs to regroup quickly if they want to stay in the mix. Phoenix may need to look at player changes or new strategies to turn things around in upcoming matches.

News in Brief: Phoenix Flames Faces Shocking Setback at Home

The Phoenix Flames earned only two points at the 2025 MLP Phoenix, winning one DreamBreaker match against Atlanta Bouncers. Genie Bouchard was targeted by opponents and struggled, while Alex Walker filled in during one match and played well. Phoenix may need to rethink its lineup to stay in the playoff race.
